Project: O Cañizo Tunnel V.I (Spain)
A 5,350 linear-meter tunnel and a 74 m2 excavation section for the new AVE line linking Madrid to Galicia. The geological profile of the tunnel distinguishes between a healthy granite zone of around 3,900 meters and a slate zone of around 1,450 meters. Excavation methods include drilling and blasting, both forward and burst, as well as mechanical excavation and shaving, depending on the site conditions.
